the flirting

I can rarely tell if someone is flirting with me or not. It’s because i have terrible self-esteem! i have resorted to relaying the scenarios to The Whistler then she tells me if it was indeed flirting that had taken place. Turns out that people are flirting with me all the time and i just don’t see it!

This must be why many years ago I was told that I am a tease by a guy that I had never even gone out with. Apparently I lead people on by feigning interest. I guess when a guy asks a gal out and she says no that can be misconstrued as interest.

The thing about flirting is that both parties must be interested for the actions to constitute flirting.

Kind of like that whole if a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound thing. Maybe it’s not at all like that, but if a guy is flirting with me, and I am not interested then I don’t think the flirting is taking place. But if I am interested he could tell me that I am a dim wit and I think he is the best flirt west of the Mississippi.

I do know one thing about flirting:

If you are trying to get in the pants of a girl that smokes it’s probably not a good idea to open with a line that involves a joke about smoking and cancer.
